Downtown Business Alliance

The Downtown Business Alliance is a group of business owners and individuals interested in maintaining the integrity of Bastrop’s historic downtown district as a center of community activity, as an attractive and compelling visitor destination, and most importantly, as the heart and pride of a fast-growing city within one of the most historic and naturally unique areas in Texas.

Our membership’s goal is to work with all business and organizations to ensure our old town, our parks, our historic trails and our natural wonders thrive.

The Downtown Business Alliance (DBA), in conjunction with the Texas Main Street Program and the Preserve America Program, is striving to generate interest in and recognition of the heritage and beauty of the area by structuring events held on the streets and in the parks of the historic district.

These 2nd Saturday Salebrations draws 80 - 100 vendors from all over Central Texas and features unique art and collectables Together with Main Street businesses they set an atmosphere that stimulates all the senses with food, laughter, music and pure all-American fun.

Yesterfest

Sponsored by the Bastrop Opera House & The Downtown Business Alliance (DBA)

Bastrop, the original Stephen Austin "little" settlement, celebrated its 175th birthday in 2007.

This year, Yesterfest again celebrates that birthday with a festival honoring a heritage of many cultures, especially the African, Mexican, Indian, German, Czech, Scottish, and the unique culture of the Cowboy. Each of the seven cultures will demonstrate their unique contributions with costumes, food, demonstrations, artisans, music, arts and crafts. Come enjoy the fun!

Pet & Pal Parade

The Pet and Pal Parade, is held in conjunction with the Patriotic Festival. It is a chance for children and adults to proudly display their animals, dressed in the patriotic spirit of the day, on a short walk down Main Street followed by lemonade and ice cream at the Public Library…a truly small town event!

Halloween Parade

Halloween draws visitors from all over Central Texas to participate and trick-or-treat among goblins, ghosts, and witches as everyone gathers on Main Street for costume contests and games. Then take a stroll along the streets in the historic district for trick-or-treating in old-fashioned neighborhoods. Everyone’s welcome!

Veterans Day - Second Saturday Salebration | Classic Car Show

Held on the second Saturday in November and to help salute Veterans, DBA holds a Classic Car Show in the historic district. One of the biggest events of the year, this show attracts over 300 cars and 10,000 visitors to the area annually.

December Events

The Holiday Season in Bastrop is unlike any other. The lighted Christmas Parade on the second Saturday of December features over 100 entries, from floats to cowboys on horseback, all lit up for the holidays, and draws crowds from all over Central Texas. This parade follows a day of activities – Second Saturday Market Days on Main and Pine Streets, and the Historic Homes Tour, sponsored by the Bastrop County Historical Society, where some of the “jewels of Bastrop” historic homes are open to the public and decorated for the season.
